REMINISCENCE

They say Childhood is the best,
Where one enjoys, cracks
Jokes and takes rest.
Worries, anxieties, fear has no –
Place in the youth’s core.
One pleading for toys and games
 More and more.

Rising up late in the morning
And, playing around the whole evening;
None to scold much, only
Parents’ orders for studies were such.

When stepping school for the first time;
Tears fell down at the thought
Of parting away from family.
But who knew these tears would change into joy of laughers?

The punishments at those naughty acts
Not knowing what were the defects.
 Eagerly participating;
In the school activities,
Not giving up at the difficulties.

The exams were the unwelcomed names,
That made all the pupils lame.
Sundays were enthusiastic
And, Monday blues the great boredom.

Unfortunately, time never ceases.
The sorrow of the lost childhood increases.
The transition from childhood to adulthood
Is a great progress.
The future beckoning is a mess.
This cannot be brought back replacing any treasure;
The youth’s agony cannot be measured.

Relish the time you have at hand,
Forbid, the childhood becoming unpleasant.
Childhood is irreversible;
Enjoy it as a present.
